County then and there sworn & charged to enquire for our said Lord the King for the
Body of the said County It is presented in Manner & form following that is to say
Middx. The Jurors for our Lord the King upon their Oath present That John Stock< no role >
late of the Parish of St Andrew Holborne in the County of Middlesex Victualler on the
fifteenth day of October in the Eighth Year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George
the Second King of great Britain France & Ireland Defender of the faith with for
& Arms at the Parish aforesaid in the County aforesaid in & upon one Alice < no role > the Wife of
Thomas McCully< no role > in the Peace of God and our Said Lord the King then & there being
did make an Assault & tier said Alice then and there did beat wound & ill=treat
so that of her Life it was greatly despaired And her the said Alice then & there falsly
unlawfully & injurious & against the Will of the said Alice & against the Laws &
Customs of this Realm did Imprison & detain for the Space of one Hour And he the
Said John Stock< no role > other wrongs to the Said Alice then & there did To the great Damage
of the Said Alice And against the Peace of our Said Lord the King his Grown & Dignity
And the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do further present That the said
John Stock< no role > on the Said fifteenth day of October in the Year aforesaid with force & Arms
at the Parish aforesaid in the Count aforesaid in &theupon the Said Alice in the Peace
of God & our Said Lord the King then & there being did make an Assault & her the
Said Alice then & there did beat wound & ill treat so that of her Life it was greatly
despaired & other wrongs to the Said Allice then & there did To the great Damage of
the Said Alice And against the Peace of our Said Lord the King his Crown & Dignify
And the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do further present That the Said John Street
on the Said fifteenth day of October in the Year aforesaid with force & Arms at the Parish
aforesaid in the County aforesaid in & upon the Said Alice in the peace of God and our said Lord the King then & there being did make an
Assault & her the Said Allice then & there did beat wound & ill=treat so that of her
Life it was greatly desparied And one Velvet Hood of the value of Eighteen Shillings
one Cloath Cloah of the value of eighteen Shillings one Lambrick Handkerchief of the value of Seven Shillings & Six pence one Silk
Handkerchief of the value of four Shillings one Callimanes quated Petticoat of the
value of Twenty Shillings one Gets Ring of the value of fourteen Shillings Two
Peices of Gold Coin of the proper Coin of this Kingdom called Guin [..] of the value of forty two
Shillilngs & Thirteen Shillings in Moneys numbred of the Goods Chantells & Moneys
of the Said Thomas Mr. Cully from the person & against the Will of the Said Alice then &
there unlawfully & Unjustly did take & carry away & other wrongs to the Said Thomas
Mc. Cully & Alice his Wife then & there did To the great Damage of the Said Thomas
& Alice And against the Peace of our sd. Lord the King his Crown and Dignity.
Whereupon the Sheriff of the Said County of Middx. is commanded that he do not
omit by reason of any Liberty in his Bailiwick but that he cause the Said John Stock< no role >
to come to answer the Premisses And afterwards to wit at the General Session of
the Peace of our Said Lord the King holden for the County aforesaid at Hicks Hall
aforesd. in the Said County on Monday to wit the Second Day of December in the
Eighth Year of the reign of our Said Lord the King before Edward Barker< no role > Esqr : Sr.
John Genson< no role > Knight John Milner< no role > Esqr . & others their follows Justices of our Said Lord the
King assigned to Keep the Peace in the Said County & also to hear and determine divers
felonies trespasses & other Misdeeds comitted in the Said County cometh the Said John
Stock
< no role > in his own Person and having heard the same Indictment the Said John Stock< no role >
saith that he is not guilty thereof & concerning this he putteth himself upon his
County & Peter Walter< no role > Esqr . Clerk of the Peace of the County aforesaid who
prosecuteth for our Said Lord the King in this Behalf in like Manner Etc therefore
let the Jury thereupon come before the Justices of our Said Lord the King at the next
General Quarter Session of the Peace to be holden for the County aforesaid by whom the
