Whereas Complaint hath been made unto as Two
of his Majesty's Justices of the peace for this County
residing near The Parish of Fryern Barnet in the
said County and one of us The Quoram by the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of Fryern
Barnet aforesaid that Elizabeth Pegram< no role > Single
woman was lately delivered within their Parish
of a female Bastard Child which for some time
hath been chargeable Thereunto And whereas Upon
a Strict Examination of the said Elizabeth Pegram< no role >
(on Oath) and due Consideration had of the premisses
A appeareth unto us, and we adjudge That Emanuel
Johnson
< no role > of Edmonton in this County Labourer is
the putative father of the said Bastard we the
said Justices do therefore Order that for the relief
of the said Parish the said Emanuel Johnson do
forthwith pay or cause to be paid unto the Church
-wardens or Overseers of the poor aforesaid the
sum of Two pounds four Shillings and Ten pence
which appears to us to have been by them laid
out and expended for and towards the lying in
of the said Elizabeth and burying the said Bastard
with other incident and necessary Charges aurug [..]
There from or give Security to the said Church
-wardens and Overseers of the poor well and
Truly to observe, keep, and perform this our
Order Given under our hands and Seals this
Second day of July 1734 .
