The King agt: Pinchbeck

Thos: Umfreville< no role > of Fetter Lane London Gentleman Attorny for
the Prosecutor in this Cause Maketh Oath That other [..] Lane right
the Prosecutor in this Cause haveing abt. two days agoe received
A Notice from the Dept. Pinchbeck [..] A he wod. Appear this
Morning in this Court & withdraw his Plea of not Guilty he had
the last Sessions & pleaded in this Cause & wod: Confess the
Inditemt: that was found agt. him or receipt of wth: Not to the
sd [..] To his Laws right Applyed to this Depont: to gett A Brief &
other things necessary prepared according to the Depts: said Notice
And this Depont: Saith That on Wednesday the 27th: of this instant
June at half an hour after Eight in the Evening or thereabouts the said Lampright
Came to this Depont: to goe with A Brief to Councell & this Depont.
Saith that the Same evening the Said Lampright & this Report
Comeing up Fetter Lane in order to goe to the said Councell's house
the said Pinchbeck mett this Depont. with the prosecutor Lampright
whereupon the said Pinchbeck then & there Violently said handson the
said Lampright raiseing A Great Mobb & Concourse of People Calling
in the Publick Street the said Lampright A Villaine, Rogue and
Thief & this Depont. Saith he then Saw the said Pinchbeck dragg the
said Lampright all down Better Lane aforesaid followed with A
Great Mobb And this Depont: was oblidged to Leave the sd Lampright
least Some damage Shod: happen to him by the sd Mobb: The said
Pinchbeck as aforesaid Calling the said Lampright, A Villaine Rogue
& Thiefe, & That he wod: Very Shortly Sweare Some Felonious
Matter agt: him, & this Depont: Saith he Verily beleives the said Lampright
is in danger of his life from the said Pinchbeck & intents as this-
Depont: hath been Credibly informed to Confine the said Lampright at his
the said Pinchbeck's house in order to represent his Testimony in
this cause wth is the only Cause of the aforesaid usage as this
Depont: Verily believes And this depont. Saith that the said Pinchbeck
hath this Morning Arrested Francis Raby A Materiall wittness for the

King in this Cause not wth. standing
he Shewed the Subpenaw herewith he was
Serded to Attend this Court this Morning}
