Whereas Complaint hath been made unto us whose
hands & Seales are hereunto Set Two of his Maties.
Justices of the Peace for the County of Middx
(Quor vuns) By the Chapell Wardens & Overseers
of the Poor of the Hamlett of Hamersmith in
the said County That Samuel Payne< no role > An insant
aged about three yeares ye Son of Samuel Payne< no role > by
Sarah < no role > his wife is lately broughs and left in the said
Hamlest wth. intent to be Settled there Contrary
to Law And it Appearing unto us the said Justices
that he is likely to become Chargeable to the said
Hamlet and Whereas upon Examon of Mary < no role >
the wife of Henry Hopkins< no role > taken upon Oath
is further appeareth unto us that the place of
ye: Legall Settlement of the said Samuel Payne< no role > the insant is at the parish
of Bow in the said
County And upon Strict exaicon wee Cannot find
that the said samuel Payne< no role > father to ye Sd. infant
or ye said Sarah < no role > his wife have ever gained any
Legall Settlement Wee the said Justices do
therefore adjudge the said parish of Bow
to be the place of ye [..] legall
Settlement of the said Samuel Payne< no role > the
infant And Do therefore in his Maties: name
Charge & Comand the Chappell Wardens and
Overseers of ye Poor of ye said Hamlet of Hamersmith
forthwith to remove & Convey the sd. Samuel
Payne< no role > ye infant from & out of their sd Hamlet
to ye sd parish of Bow and
deliver him to ye Churchwardens & Overseers of the
poor there or to Some or one of them who are hereby
required to receive him into their care & to provide
for him according to Law Hereof faile not Given under
Our Hands & Seales this 12th day of January Anne Dom
