in their General Quarter Sessions of the peace assembled

The humble Petition and Appeale of Walter Wood< no role >
on the behalfe his Son Samuel Wood< no role > now apprentice
to James Hely< no role > late of the parish of St. James
Clerkenwell in this County

Sheweth


That Your Petitioner about Three Quarters of a year aged
Bound his son Apprentice to the said James Heley< no role > to learn the Art of
a Gold Smith , but instead of instructing him in that art or the business
of a Buckle maker which the said Heyley mostly follows he wholly
Employ'd him in drawing path of Drink and lanicing the same oat
to his Customers and that about Three Months agoe the said Heyley
broke and went into the Mint and hath not only beat his said appren-
tice in an inhumane mannor Several times but also hath not found
him Comon Necessarys but hath Sent him home in alliserable
Condition with the Hich and Your petitioner hath Endeavomed
all that possibly he Could to gett him the said Heyley bound over
to this present Sessions but by reason of his Sheltoring himselfe in
the Mint he cannot obtain the Same

Therefore yor petitioner most humbly prays
Your Worships will be pleased to appoint
a Day this present Sessions for the said
Heyley to Attend this Court and all other
parties Concerned to skew Cause why the [..]
Saml Wood< no role > should not be discharged from
his apprenticeship on that this Court will grant
him such other whose in the promisses as may
thought meet
