To the Maties Justices of the peace for the County of Middx in their
General Sessions Assembled.

The Comittee whose names are hereunto set to whom amongst other of
his Maties Justices of the peace for this County it was referred by Order of the
last General Quarter Sessions of the peace held for this County to enquire into
the truth of the complaint of Francis Geary< no role > and to report the same unto this
Court with their opinions touching the premises, and in what manner the
peticoner Geary ought to be redressed (if aggrieved) did proceed to Enquire
into the said matters to them referred, and had several meetings for that
purpose And the said Geary's Complaint appeared to be that on the 5th of
January 1715/16 he came to an Agreement with Mrs Seymore (which was
reduced into writing and signed by the parties and was produced before the
Comittee,) whereby, as the said Geary did alledge, he was to receive the Fees
of the Court at Hicks's Hall and the benefit accuring by Licences renewed and
all other advantages belonging to the Cryer and Housekeeper thereof for so
long a time as the said Mrs Seymore should enjoy the [..] same for which
he on his part was to pay her forty pounds then in hand and forty pounds more
at the Expiration of that year and so Eighty pounds P Anum and to pay her one
Guinea every Sessions for her Assistance and to defray the expences of the
Justices Dinners and Servants Wages and to provide Linnen and other
accomodations. And then alledged that he on his part had performed the
said Contract throughout. And further that he had been at several
voluntary charges on her account to which he was no way obliged by the
same as £16 for Coach hire paid for her and £20 for Law charges in getting her
possession in the whose 36th which said Items of £16: and £20: the said Geary
alledged he did agree not to Demand an allowance of Mrs Seymore for; if She
would perform the Terms of the said written Agreement with him which
he insisted upon as a Subsisting Agreement at the time of his Complaint and
therefore prayed that under the same he might be continued in, his Employmt.
he in such case waving his Demand of the said £36: but that Mrs Seymore
was dissatisfyed with the terms of the said written contract and demanded
£110: P Anum rent in breath thereof and also an allowance of the said £20: and
£16: which the said Geary by no means could pay, and the Comittee having
thereupon convened before them the said Geary and Mrs Seymore and
examined them as to the aforesaid matters and having perused and
considered the said written Agreement did observe that the same was not, as
Alledged by the said Geary to continue for so long a time as the said Mrs Seymore
should enjoy the Office of Cryer and House keeper but expresly so long as both
party's should agree. And it appeared upon the said Examination that at
or [..] soon after, the expiration of the first year after the making thereof Mrs
Seymore did depart from the same and demanded other Terms and a
greater Kent. To Wit £100: P Anum of the said Geary which he complyed
with (by his Wife who it appeared usually transacted these Affairs for him
and the said new parol Agreement was executed on both parts for
