for the Said County this 15th. day of July 1720
This Deponent declareth upon Oath that as
he was comeing up from London
to Chelsea
in
a Barge of Coals on Wednesday the 13th. of this
present instant
between the Hours of four &
five in the Morning & goeing to put in to Shore
to unlade his Coals, that one John Man< no role >
Barge
Man
then Standing on the Shore called to him
the Said John Neal< no role >
and ask'd him to give
him a Cast on board the said John Man< no role >
's Barge
then Lying off Shore, on which this Deponent
Stept out of his Barge into a Small Boat then his
close by and being in he was surprised to finde
a Melon and Green leaves Strew'd about the
Boat, knowing the Boat belong to one Legally
Waterman, and to the best of his knowledge
not usually imploy'd in Carrying such Goods:
but hearing afterwards on the same day that
the Hospitall Garden had been Robb'd he gave
Notice of what he had seen and found in that
Boat And further this Deponent Saith Not.
