The Order of Thomas Rand< no role > and Isaac Tillard< no role > Esqrs . Two of his Maties Justices of the
Peace for the County of Middx (Quor un) Liveing near the parish Church of St. Mary
Islington in the County Aforesaid Made the First day of April Ann Dom
1718 According to the Forme of the Statute in that Case made and Provided; Tuching
a Female Bastard Child Late borne in the Said parish of St. Mary Islington of
the body of Jane Benskin< no role > of the Same parish Singlewoman (the keeping of which
Child hath ever Since the Birth thereof been a Charge to the Said parish and is so
like to Continue)

First upon the Examinacon of the Said Jane Benskin< no role > (Taken upon Oath before us) & other
Circumstances we do Adjudge John Lowe< no role > of the parish of St: Andrew Holbourn in the County of Middx Butcher
the putative father of the Said Bastard Child; And we do Order him the said John
Lowe
< no role > (for the Releife of the Said parish of St. Mary Islington in Part) upon Notice of
this our Order to pay or Cause to be paid to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor
Some or one of them the Sume of Forty Shillings of Good and Lawfull mony of Great
Britain for the Releife of the Said Bastard Child for the first weeks after the Birth
thereof & for the Charges of the Said Jane Benskin< no role > 's Lying In And also that he the
Said John Lowe< no role > Shall weekly and every week after the Expiracon of the first four
weeks pay or Cause to be paid to the Churchwardens & Overseers of the poor Aforesaid
Some or one of them the Sume of Two Shillings & Six pence of Like Lawfull mony
for & Towards the releife & Maintainance of the Said Bastard Child for So Long
at Such Times as the Said Bastard Child Shall be Chargeable to the Said parish
untill she Shall Attain the Age of Eleven years (if she shall so long Live) at which
Time the Said John Lowe< no role > shall pay or Cause to be Paid to the Churchwardens and Overseers
of the poor for the Time being the Since of four pounds, of Like lawfull mony for &
Towards the putting Forth Apprentice the Said Bastard Child to Some Lawfull
Calling. And we do further Order that the Said John Lowe< no role > Shall pay and
Discharge the Said Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the Said parish for
the Time being and every of them from all Debts, damages and demands already
demanded of them or Contracted by them, or that may hereafter be demanded of
them or Contracted by them or Either of them or their Successors for the Time
being for or by reason of the Maintainance and bringing up of the Said bastard
Child. And Lastly we Addjudge that upon Notice of this our Order the Said
John Lowe< no role > find Sufficient Sureties to the Churchwardens & Overseers of the
Poor Some or one of them for the True performance of all and Singuller the
respective Articles Contain'd in this Order Given under Our hands and Seales
the day and year Above Written
