Whereas upon reading the humble peticon and
appeale of Roger Rogerson< no role > Rector of Hanwell
in this Country exhibited unto this Court
settingforth that the petr. for fourty one yeares last
past hath been rated at the rate of eighty pounds p
aunrs in the peace book for his tythes & globe lying in
the said parish of Hanwell , And that on the fourth of
April last past some of the Inhabitants of the said
parish (not allowing the overseers the ten present
in vestry to be concernd with them) took upon them
to raise the petr. in the pretended poors rate to one
hundred pounds p ann, altho for that last yeare the
tyther & globe were not of the value of Seventy
pounds, and alsoe to omitt out of the sd pretended
rate Richard Longland< no role > who rents a farme in the
said parish of the value of about eighty pounds P
annr, and in his stead to incert the name of
Christopher Clitherow< no role > Esqr . at the rate of about
thirty six pounds P ann who is not an occupant of
any land in the said parish, And that the Petr
thinking himselfe aggreived with the sd. rate
humbly appealed therefrom, Whereupon It was
ordered by this Court that the Churchwardens &
overseers of the poor of the sd parish of Hanwell
should attend this Court on this day to show cause
why the petr. should not be eased in the rate made [..]
