Whereas upon reading the humble peticon & appeale of Anthony
Guidott
< no role > of the parish of St. Mary Islington in this County
Gentl exhibited unto this Court setting forth that from
Lady day one thousand seven hundred & fourteen to
Michas last the Petr. was rated towards the releife of the
poor for the farme house & lands he holds in the sd. parish
two shillings p month after the rate of sixty pounds p ann,
and that for this last halfe yeare the Petr. is raised to three
shillings & six pence p month in the said poors rate for
the same estate, And that the Parish officers have
raised the bery same estate from sixty pounds p annm
to eighty pounds p annm in the Churchwardens book,
and rated it accordingly, And that the Petr. conceived
himselfe aggreived by the said rates, for that divers
substantiall Inhabitants in the sd parish are not
advanced any thing in either of the sd rates for or in
respect of their houses & lands which they hold in the sd
parish in proporcon to the Petr. And the Petr. praying
that this Court would order the Churchwardens & Overseers
of the poor of the said parish to attend this Court (with
their collecting books & rates) to shew cause why the
Petr. should not be releived in the sd rates, It was
Ordered by this Court that the Churchwardens & Overseers
of the poor of the sd. parish & all other persons concerned
should attend this Court on this day with their collecting
books & rates above menconed to shew cause why the Petr.
should not be eased in the sd. rates made for the releife of
the poor of the said parish, Now upon hearing of what
was alledged by the Petr. & alsoe by Isaac Freelove< no role > one of the
Churchwardens of the said parish This Court is of opinion
