Sheweth


That by order dated the 26th day of May last under the hands & Seales of Roger
Smyth
< no role > & John Steuart< no role > Esqrs two of her Maties Justices of the peace for this County (quor nuns)
Your Petr is adjudged the Father of a Female (pretended) bastard child named Martha< no role > bor [..]
on the body of Margarett Needes< no role > wife of George Needes< no role > , in the parish of St Leonard Shorditch
in this County which child hath (as is alledged) allmost ever Since the birth thereof been [..]
chargeable to the Said parish and So likely to continue.

That your Petr is thereby ordered weekly to pay to the Churchwardens or Overseers
of the poor of the Said parish for the time being Soe long as the Said Child Shall be
chargeable to the Same, the Sume of two Shillings & Six pence weeke towards the Nurseing &
bringing up of the Said child And also to pay to the Churchwardens or Overseers of the
poore of the Said parish Forty Shillings for the charge of lyeing in Nurses Wages
Midwife & other necessaries And the Sume of two Shillings & Six pence weekly untill
the Said child Should attain the Age of Ten years, And that your Petr Should give
Security to the Churchwardens & Overseers of the poore of the Said parish for the time
being & their Successors to discharge & keep the Said parish harmless from all charge
concerning the keeping or releiveing of the Said child.

That your Petr finds himselfe aggreived by the Said order of the Said two Justices
& humbly appeales against the Same.

Your Petr therefore humbly prayes your Worpps will be pleased to order
the Churchwardens & Overseers of the poor of the Said parish of St
Leonard Shoreditch & all other persons concerned to attend this Court
this present Sessions to hear & abide the Judgment & determinacon
of this Court touching the Said Appeale And to be releived herein & [..]

And your Petr Shall pray Etc.
