said Act of Parliament: And also that in many of the said
Rules and Orders considerable Sums of Money are allowed to
be taken out of the Stock for the purpose of being expended in
Funerals whereas the Chief Object of the Societies recognized by the
said Act is to provide a Stock for the relief and maintenance of the
Members of such Societies in Old Age and Sickness & Infirmity
or to the relief of the Widows and Children of the Deceased: The
Committee do not consider themselves at liberty to recommend the
Confirmation of any of the Rules and Orders submitted to them
in the state they are But are of Opinion that the same should be
returned to the respective parties in order to introduce Rules and
Orders to the Effect following.

1st. A Rule and Order requiring Securities to be given by
Persons intrusted with the Funds of the Society in the manner
proposed by the said Act.

2dly So to amend the Rules And Orders as that no greater
Sum than Five Pounds shall be applied from the Funds of the
Society to be expended on any Funeral.

3dly. That a Rule and Order be added describing the manner
in which any Society can be dissolved according to the clauses of
that said Act.

All which Your said Committee Submit Etc

And also some Printed observations on the said Societies
and also the Act of Parliament being read by the Chairman.

Resolved that it be recommended to the said Societies
or their Secretary or Agent to procure the said Book or
Pamphlet and that they do make their Rules and Orders as
conformable thereto as possible.
