Session House for the said County (by adjournment) on
Thursday the Twenty seventh day of June in the Thirty third
year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third King

His Majestys Justices of the Peace
for the County of Middlesex
having viewed the New House of Correction
at Clarkenwell
and having
examined Mr Wood the Contractor for the Carpenters Work as to the
fitness of a part of the said Prison for the reception of Prisoners who
confirming them in their opinion that a part of the Prison was perfectly dry
and that Prisoners might be removed thither with great safety Ordered
that the great or principal Gates of the Prison be forthwith put up and
compleated and that an Apartment be provided and fitted up for a Turnkey.
Ordered that the Apartments in the said Prison intended for the
Governor
be all immediately finished.
Ordered that 40 Oaken Bedsteads be immediately made and
provided for the use of the Prisoners with Straw Mattrasses
Ordered that 12 Rugs and 12 Blankets be also provided for
the use of the Prisoners.
Ordered that a specimen of Poo Poo Tubs be provided and when
approved that each Cell so fitted up with Beds be furnished with a Tub
Ordered that two Butts for the holding of Water for the use of the
Prisoners be also provided to be placed in the Court yards the same as
at the New Prison
.
