And the said Committee further Report, That in
pursuance of the Order of Referrence to this Committee made in September
last Vizt. "It being represented to this Court that the New Paving of the
Carriage Way of the St. James's Haymarket will be Completed in a few days
and it appearing that the Treasurer of the Haymarket Fund has a Balance in
his Hands of £1351..15..6 Resolved that the Haymarket Committee appointed
on Thursday the Fifth day of May last or any three or more of them be
empowered to draw upon and receive from the said Treasurer the whole or
any part of the said Sum and to appropriate the same towards defraying
the Expences incurred by them in Paving the said Street." The Committee
received from Mr Burchell the Treasurer of the Haymarket Tolls the Sum of
£1351..15..6, That they have paid to Mr Hinley the Clerk to the
Committee the Sum of £26..9..10 in full Discharge of his Bill, To Mr.
Rogers the County Surveyor for Surveying the Haymarket £50..8..7 and
to Messrs. William Meredith< no role > and Son the Sum of £1274..7..1 in part of
their Bill, That there remains a Balance due to the said William
Meredith and Son of £407..1..10.

And the said Committee further Report, That it is the
Opinion of Your Committee that as the different Water Companies in Digging
out the Trenches over their Pipes, that are laid in the Haymarket do very
considerable Damage to the Pavement it will be necessary in future for the
preservation of the New Pavement of the said Street that a proper Person
should be appointed to inspect the same and as occasion may require to
give the necessary directions to the Pavior to repair the same, and Your
Committee recommend James Adams< no role > the present Constable of the Haymarket
as a fit and proper Person to be appointed such Inspector

And the said Committee further Report, That it is their
Opinion that a standing Committee should be appointed to see that the Rules
and Orders made for the Management of the Tolls of the S James's Haymarket
