At a General Meeting of His Majestys Justices of the Peace for the County of
Middlesex and for the City and Liberty of Westminster holden at the Guildhall in
King Street Westminster on Thursday the Third day of January 1788

Upon Reading the Resolutions of the Court and upon the Examination of
Joseph Stocken< no role > touching the state of his Account and his Ability to pay the balance
due from him to the County It is Ordered by His Majestys Justices of the Peace for
the County of Middlesex and City and Liberty of Westminster now here assembled that
the said Joseph Stocken< no role > be and he is hereby discharged from the Office of Collector of the
Tolls of Hay and Straw in St. James's Haymarket and It is further Ordered that he do
forthwith deliver All the Books Papers Documents and Accounts respecting the Receipt
of the Tolls and Entries of the Sale of Hay and Straw in the said Market to Mr Andrew
Bowdler the Person appointed to collect the said Tolls for the use of His Majestys Justices
of the Peace for the County of Middlesex and for the City and Liberty of Westminster .

Resolved that Mr Andrew Bowdler< no role > do receive the said Tolls till a
Collector of the said Tolls shall be duly Elected.

Resolved that the Election of a Collector be at this Place on this day
Fortnight to commence at Twelve and end at One o Clock precisely and that the
same be by Ballot.

Resolved that the Collector in future to be appointed do find Surety
himself in £100 and two other Persons in £100 each for the punctual discharge
of his duty in his said Office.

Resolved that Mr Stocken be immediately informed of his Discharge

Adjourned till Friday the 18th. day of January Instant to
meet at this Place at Eleven o Clock in the Forenoon
