That the said Joseph Stocken< no role > attended and produced his Account
whereby it appeared that there was a Ballance in his Hands on Account of
Monies collected by him up to Michaelmas last of the Sum of £148..18..6.

That it further appeared to Your Committee from the said Joseph
Stockens Accot. That the Gross Sum collected by him for one quarter of a Year
from Michs. 1786 to the ensuing Christmas amounted to £48..4..11d.


Out of which his Salary for One Quarter being £17..10..0 and
a Sum of £3..3..0 charged by him for the attendance of a Constable
to keep the Street clear & regulate the standing of the Carts and
Waggons-the next Ballance on that Quarter amounted to
27..11..11d

That from Christmas 1786 to Lady day 1787 the Gross Sum
collected in that Quarter amounted to55..12..4


Out of which making the same Deduction as in
the preceeding Quarter of

The net Ballance amounted to34..19..4

That the Gross Sum collected in the Quarter commencing at Lady
day 1787 & Ending at Midsumr. follg. amounted to55..9..1

That the Gross sum collected in the quarter commencing at
Midsumr. 1787 and ending at the ensuing Michaelmas

The clear Ballance for 1 Year £123..9..11

That it appears to Your Committee from the Accounts of the said
Joseph Stocken< no role > and from the Information received from him that the Gross
Annual Amount of the Tolls of the Haymarket upon an Average is £205. and
that there has been very little difference in the Annual Collections since the
time of his Collectorship.
