if he should be so happy to be thought deserving of Your Worships
Favour and be appointed he will to the utmost of his abilities by a

I most humbly begg Leave to be permitted to offer myself a
Candidate to be appointed Governour
of the House of Correction
at
Clerkenwell
on the place of Mr James Crozier< no role >
Resigned.
My having been in the Commission of the Peace
for this
County upwards of twelve Years & I flatter myself acted therein with
reputation emboldens me to offer my self a Candidate for the above Offi [..]
as it may be presumed I must have a competent knowledge of all the La [..]
Orders Rules and Regulations that may be necessary for the well
Governing & Managing the same.
If this my Application should prove successful I do pledge
myself that it will ever be my constant care & study to see that all Order Rules
& Regulations that are or may be made for the well Ordering & Governing
thereof to be strictly enforced and obey'd & every duty of the Office Executed
with the greatest diligence and care & at the same time act with human
to the unhappy objects committed to my Care & Charge.
