At a Meeting Etc of his Majesties Justices of the Peace for the County
of Middlesex At Hicks Hall in Saint John Street in the County aforesd.
On Monday the Eighth Day of March 1756 Pursuant to an
Advertizement incerted in the Daily Advertiser and St. James's Evening
Post of Saturday last.

The Chairman Communicated to the Gentleman Assembled a Letter
from the Lords of his Majesties most Honourable Privy Council to his Grace
the Duke of Newcastle.

Ordered That the said Letter be Read And the Same was read
accordingly.

Ordered That the Form of a Warrant be Drawn in Pursuance of the
said Letter which was accordingly drawn and the same was approved of.

Ordered That the Letter now Read be Entered in the Publick Book of
Orders of this Court.

Ordered That a Copy of the Above Letter be transmitted to the Principal
Clerk of Each Division in this County together with a Sufficient Number of Warrants
new Settled to be Made Use of for the Purposes in the said Letter Mentioned.

Ordered That the Justices in Each Division do forthwith hold a Special
Session within their several Divisions and Continue the Same from time to time
more Effectually to Put in Execution the Directions of the said Letter And that
the said Justices do make a Return of their several Proceedings herein Upon
the Next County Day in the Next General Quarter Sessions of the Peace to be held
for this County in Order to be transmitted to the Lords of his Majesties most
Honourable Privy Council according to the Directions of the said Letter.

After our very hearty Commendations to Your Grace
Whereas We did by Our Letter of the Sixth of February 1755
Signifie unto Your Grace his Majesty's Commands to Call upon the Justices
of the Peace within the County of Middlesex whereof Your Grace is Custes
Rotatorur and to Enjoyn and require them to Cause all Stragling Seamen
fit to Serve on Board his Majestys Ships to be taken up and Sent by Proper
Persons in Order to be Put On Board the Fleet, Yet not with standing the
Same there is at this time a Great Want of Seamen for his Majesty's
Service Altho' there is the Strongest Reason to Apprehend that great Numbers
of Seamen and Seafaring Men are still Larking about in different Parts
of the said County in Order to Avoid his Majesties Service And Whereas
