By adjournment on Thursday the twenty fourth day of February 1757 .

Order for Mr. Higgs Trearer
to pay £14.10s.3d to Mr. Henry
Wallis
< no role > for Bricklayers Work
done at New Prison and the
House of Correction at Clerkenwell .

A Bill of Mr. Henry [..] been produced before this Court for Bricklayers
Work done at New Prison [..] House of Correction at Clerkenwell is this County
amounting to the Sum of fourteen pounds two Shillings and three pence And it
appearing unto this Court by Writing under the Hands of Bartholomew Hammond< no role > and
Francis Bedwell< no role > Esqrs . two of his Majestys Justices of the Peace for the said County that
they have examined the said Bill and that there is due for the same the said Sum
fourteen pounds ten Shillings and three pence It is Ordered by this Court that Mr.
John Higgs< no role > Treasurer of this County do pay the said Sum of fourteen pounds ten
Shillings and three Pence unto the Said Henry Wallis< no role > in full of his said Demand
whose Receipt together with this Order shall be a sufficient Discharge to the
said Treasurer for such payment.

By adjournment on Thursday the twenty fourth day of February 1757.

Order for electing & continuing
Thomas Lane< no role > Esqr . Chairman
of the Court.

His Majestys Justices of the Peace for the County of Middx now assembled at this
present General Sessions of the peace holden for the said County do elect and
continue Thomas Lane< no role > Esqr. to be Chairman of the General Quarter and General
Sessions of the Peace to be holden for the same County between Easter One thousand
seven hundred and fifty seven and Michaelmas then next following and do give
Thanks to the said Mr. Lane for the great Services by him done to the said County in
the publick Administration of Justice.

to Consider it any Savings can
be made in respect of relieving
and passing Vagrants

It is Ordered by this Court that it be and it is hereby recommended and referred unto

Justices of the Peace for the County of Middx and such other of his Majestys
Justices of the Peace for the said County as will please to be present or any two of
them as a Committee to meet together at Hicks Hall in St. John Street on Thursday
the third day of April next at ten of the Clock in the Forenoon to peruse the Act of
Parliament made in the Seventeenth Year of his present Majestys reign Intitale
An Act to amend and make were effectual the Laws relating to Rogers Vagabonds
and other idle and disorderly Persons and to Houses of Correction and to consider if
any and what Savings can be made for the said County in respect of relieving and
passing of Vagrants And this Court dothdothdesire that Samuel Bevor< no role > Esqr . one of
his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the said County will be pleased to be present
as one of the said Committee And it is Ordered by this Coast that Mr. John Higgs< no role >
Treasurer of this County do attend the said Committee and that he do bring with [..]
the Act of Parliament abovementioned and his last Accounts concerning Vagrants.
