Surrey

These are to Certify That at the General Session of the Delivery
of the Gaol of our Lord the King of the County of Surrey holden for our
said Lord the King at Kingston upon Thames in and for the County
aforesaid on Wednesday the Twenty fifth day of March in the Twenty
ninth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third now
King of Great Britain Etc Before The Honourable Sir Henry Gould< no role >
Knight one of the Justice s of our said Lord the King of His Court
of Common Pleas and The Honorable Sir Beaumont Hotham< no role >
Knight one of the Barrons of our said Lord the King of His Court of
Exchequer and others their fellows Justices of our said Lord
the King Assigned to Deliver the said Gaol of the Prisoner s
therein being. Thomas Giles< no role > late of the Parish of Saint
Mary Lambeth in the County of Surrey Labourer was Indicted
for that he on the Eighteenth day of December in the Twenty ninth
year of the Reign of our said Lord the King, being a person employed
in carrying Letters and Packets from the Southwark Penny Post
Office to Lambeth Marsh in the said County of Surrey feloniously did
Steal and take out of a certain Letter with which he was entrusted to
deliver at Lambeth Marsh aforesaid, one Promissory Note for the
payment of money of the value of five pounds and five Shillings the
property of William Heynes< no role > the said Sum of five Pounds and five Shillings
secured by the said Note being then due and unsatisfied to the said
William Heynes< no role > the Proprietor thereof Against the form of the Statue
in such Case made and Provided And these are further to
Certify that at the same General Session of Gaol Delivery the
said Thomas Giles< no role > was in due form of Law tryed on the said
Indictment and Acquitted thereof. As appearsby the
Records in my Office Dated this Sixteenth day of October
1789 .
