We The Grand Jurors for the City of London
having examined Nicholas Bullen< no role > a
Prosecutor agt. Charles Bassage< no role > for Felony,
who in the course of his evidence saith
Since the committment of the sd: Bassage
he hath seen him at large, & has harnt
that he has been admitted to bail by
a Justice Blackborrow without he the
Prosecutor having knowledge of such bail,
nor was his consent obtained for that
purpose The sd: Prosecutor obtained the
address of the Bail taken, and after a
diligent search no such Person, or Persons
are Known, or can be found
We the Jurors humbly conceive that the
said Justice Blackborrow hath acted
improperly, and also one fearful one
Bail, or Prisoner, will appear
The sd: Jurors also find in enquiry the
Prosecutor a very poor Mans with a
large family of six Children, and being
anxious public Justice may not be
evaded humbly recomend these
circumstances to this Honorable Court.
