Informations of Witnesses taken at the
parish of Saint Nicholas Acons in the Ward
of Langtown London the 2nd. day of Decer
1786 on view of the body of John Delew< no role >
there lying dead.

William Frolf< no role > of a Lodger at Thomas Porkins's in Saint
Nicholas Acons< no role > Church yard but her maketh oath that on Monday
night last about one o'Clock Dept. Robert Clarke< no role > , Thomas Hamblin< no role > &
another person were in the parlour of the deceds House drinking together
Says that Refers Clark behaved rudely to Mrs. Delew, on which Dept
interfered to prevent him & the sd Robert Clark< no role > then put his Hands on
each side of Dept. face & hipped him upon which Dept immed. knocked
him down & a Scuffle ensued & many House passed between Dept & said
Clark. That when they had given over some words passed between Mr.
Delew & said Clark has which of them began Dept does not know
but says that she slapped said Clark on the face three or four times
that same person then called for the Watch, on which the said Clark
attempted to nor away & was stopped at the Street Door by Dept when
Mr. Delew (the dead) came up & layed hold of the said Clark by his
Waistcoat & draw him lack to the bottom of the Stairs & there severe
blows passed between them, and Dept & the other persons present
interfered & parted them, & the Watchmen came & took Clark away
to the Watchhouse. That Dept [..] did not hear said Mr Delew
complain at all untill Dept saw him between [..] 5 & 6 the same morning

Thomas Hale< no role > of No 40 Great Tower Street London
Waterman & Lighterman maketh oath that a Monday night last
Dept being in the partner of the deceds House drinking with the deced &
others the aforesaid Witness Frott come in, & afterwards Robert Clark< no role > &
two other persons came in, & the said Robert Clark< no role > behave rude to Mrs.
Delew which occasioned the interrention of the sd. Frott & scuffle as
mentioned by him in his above deposition say that afterwards words
