Thousand Seven Hundred & Eighty five on account
& and by reason of Dearness with which the said
Richard Butter< no role > is to this Deponents Knowledge
much afflicted in the right Ear the said Richard
Butter did not think it necessary to attend as a
Juror at the said Sessions of Peace holden at Guildhall
London in July last conceiving that his attendance
would for the Reason aforesaid be of no use at the
said Sessions as the said Richard Butter informed
this Deponent and which Information this
Deponent verily beleives to be time and this Deponent
further saith that the said Richard Butter< no role > is must
afflicted with the Gout and that he the said Richard
Butter is now confined to his Room with a severe
Fit of the Gout so that he could not with out great
Danger attend this Honourable Court to make an
Affidavit of the facts above Stated

Sworn at Justice Hall in the
Old Bailey the 30th day of October
1786 }
