Know all Men by these Presents
that I Jonathan Robson< no role > Citizen and
Cordwaines of London an held
and firmly bound unto the Mayor and
Commonalty and Citizens of the City of London
in One hundred Pounds of good and lawful Money of Great Britain to be
paid to the said Mayor and Commonalty and Citizens or their certain
Attorney Successors or Assigns to which Payment well and truly to be
made I bird myself my Heirs Executors and Administrators firmly by
these Present Sealed with my seal Dated the seventeenth day of
October in the twenty sixth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord
George the third by the Grace of God King of Great Britain France and
Ireland Defender of the Faith and in the Year of our Lord on Thousand
seven hundred and eighty six

[..] above bounden Jonathan Robson< no role > was on the day
[..] admitted by the Court of Lord Mayor and Aldermen one of the Searchers of
[..] mrad Leather which shall be put to sale within this City and Liberties
[..] whole Year thence next ensuing according to an Act of Parliament passed in
[..] Year of the Reign of king James the Fish Now the Condition of this
[..] is such that of the said Jonathan Robson< no role > shall use his utmost
Endeavour to view and search all manner of James Leather which shall be brought to
this Town to be sold or within three Miles compass of the same and shall seal such as shall
be sufficiently tanned and dried only and no other and such as shall be insufficiently
tanned and dried shall seize in order that it be tried and examined pursuant to the
directions of the said Act And if the said Jonathan Robson< no role > do and shall within [..]
days after such seizure give notice thereof in writing and of the Quantity so seized to the
Court of Lord Mayor and aldermen for the time being and shall from time to time believer
to the Treasures of the Hospitals of Christ and Saint Bartholomew all such Leather as
shall be so seized and forfieted and shall so long as he shall continue in the said office
truly and honestly behave himself in every other Point according to the true meaning of
the said Act and shall or will pay or cause to be paid into the Chamber of London the
yearly Gent of len Pounds to be paid by the searchers of Leather for the Room an Leadenhall
before the Expiration of the said Year for which he is admitted one of the said Sean [..]
Then this Obligation to be void and of none Effect or else to be and remain in full Force and Virtue
