Middlesex to wit


The Information of Sarah Ball< no role > , Nicholas William< no role >
Middleton and John Stocker< no role > - taken before me
this 4th. day of July 1785 .

Who being on Oath say and first said Sarah Ball< no role > says that, she
is an Apprentice to Nicholas Middleton< no role > of the Strand Shopkeeper
That this Morning about 9 o'Clock she observed a Person now present
who calls himself John Harris< no role > standing without Mr. Middleton
Shop - window (a Pune of glass of which was broke) with the
Wire now produced in his hand, with which he was drawing
toward, him the Card and Pair of plated gold Buttons now
produced: of which circumstance this Informant informed said
Mr. Middleton's Son, who pursued him - And further says
that about half an hour before this, she observed a pair
of gold Sleeve Buttons in the Window, which said Buttons
she immediately missed. And the said Nicholas William Middleton< no role >
says that he followed said Harris from his Father's
Shop - window at this time, as far as the Talbot Inn , where,
he secured him and brought him buck, with the Ban box now
produced in his hand. And the said John Stocker< no role > says
that he was standing opposite Mr. Middleton's Shop at this
time and saw said Harris standing by his Shop - window
with the Baubox under his left Arm and his Right Arm [..]
in something, but what Informant can't say; after which
he observed said N W Middleton follow him and bring
him back.
