Middlesex to wit

The Information of Richard Crow< no role > , Francis Waring< no role > ,
Charles Jealous< no role > and David Prothero< no role > taken before
me this 12th. day of August 1780 .

Who being on Oath say and first the said Richard Crow< no role > for himself says
that in the night of Wednesday the 2nd. of August instant two Geldings
now produced (the property of James Crow< no role > his father) were
feloniously stolen out of a field at Cross Hall in Bedfordshire
And the said Francis Waring< no role > for himself says that on Tuesday
evening last the 8th. instant between 6 and 7 o Clock as he this
Informant was sitting in Goswell Street , two Persons now present
who call themselves James Johnson< no role > and Richard Brown< no role > came
up, mounted on the two horses now produced. That the said
Johnson gave him some Anniseed and either said Johnson or
said Brown desired him to come to the Black House Stables in
Aldersgate Street the next Morning to clean the said two horses. That the next
morning about six o'Clock he called at said Johnsons Lodging
in Barbican when Johnson threw him the Key of his Stable
out at the Window; that this Informant went to said Johnson's
stable and whilst he was cleaning the horses said Brown
came, and after he had cleaned them, said Brown ordered this
Informant to take one of them Repository in Saint
Martins Lane< no role > for sale, and to Book him at 20 Guineas,
but on this Informant replying "that that sum was too much"
said Brown desired him to Bookithim at 16 Guineas;
which this Informant complied with. And said Charles Jealous< no role >
for himself says that this Morning the said Johnson asked this
Informant 40 Guineas for the two Horses now produced
