Middlesex to wit

The Information of William Anderson< no role > of Highgate
in the County of Middlesex Labourer , taken
before me this 12th. day of April 1780 .

Who being on Oath says that on last Good Friday, he took a
White Mare (this Informant's own property) to Smithfield to sell,
that after being there some time a Person now present who
calls himself Thomas Eyles< no role > , asked the Price of her, and both
this Informant and said Eyles went into a Public house together
That shortly after another Man came in and began talking to
Eyles about another Horse, which when ended, Eyles asked
this Informant if he would sell his Mare, when this Informant
answer in the Affirmative and added that he would not sell
her under two Guineas and a half That Eyles then said
that He kept the White Bear in Old Street , and repeatedly
pressed [..] this Informant to take a Promissory Note of his,
for the Mare which this Informant as often and absolutely
refused. That this Informant then went out, took his Mare from
a Boy who was holding her and tied her to a Rail. That said
Eyles (after this Informant came in again) went out, took off
her Bridle and Saddle and feloniously rode her away, without
his privity or consent, leasing this Informant and said Eyles's
Companion in the Public house, and the Bridle and Saddle
by the Rail

Sworn before me this
12th. day of April 1780.}
