taking of this Inquisition at the Parish & in the Ward afosd.voluntarily obstinately
and Contemptuously wholly refused denied & neglected and yet both refuse deny &
neglect to take upon himself & execute the sd. Office of Constable contrary to his Duty
In manifest contempt & delay of Justice to the evil Example of all other Persons in
the like Case offending and against the Peace of our sd. Lord the King his Crown &
Dignity And the Jurors aforesd. upon their Oath aforesd. further present That
the sd. Hugh Johnson< no role > on the sd. 21 day of Dec. in the sd. 19th Year of the Reign
of our said Lord the King and long before & always after untill the day of the taking
of this Inquisition was Inhabiting & resiant paying Scott & bearing Lot within the Parish of the Clement East Cheap
in the sd. Ward of Langbaurn in London afsd. and that within the same Ward there is & from time
where of the Memory of Man is not to be Contrary there hath been a certain Court
of our Lord the present King & his Majesty Prodecossors called the Wardmote
hold & to be holds in every Year upon the Feast of St. Thomas the Aposthe Pealse
the same Feast happened to be or fall on as Sunday and in such Case upon the
day then next following that Feast) before the Alderman of the Ward aforsd. for the
time being on his Deputy in which said Court of Wardmote according to the Custom within
the sd. Ward used & approved during the time last aforesd. to wit in the parish of the Davis Back Church in the Ward of Langbourn
afsd. all the Men inhabiting & resiant paying Seat & bearing Lot within the Ward afsd.
for the time being have been used & accustomed & ought & were bound by reason of their
residence to appear in the Court & do their Suit there [..] and in the sd. Court of Wardmote
