warehouse keeper to the East India Company
taken before me this 4th. day of Janry. 1773

Who being upon Oath says that the Warehouse in his Care
situate in Leadenhall Market was broke open between the 24th.
& 29th. of December last and 628 pieces of India Handkerchiefs
the property of the Honble. United East India Company were stolen
therefrom and that he does verily believe that 391 pieces of
Handkerchiefs now produced are part of the Goods which
were stolen out of the said Warehouse as aforesaid
