On Examination Taken & Sworn on that day before Wm Bridgon< no role > Esqr . Lord
Mayor of the City of London Margaret Prosser< no role > This name instance is in set 902. This set is in the group(s): MothersPS . Singlewoman
Voluntarily Deposed that she was about Eight Months gone with
Child which was likely to be born a Bastard and to become
Chargable to the Parish of St Andrew Holborn London That
John Rufe< no role > late of Tyburn Road Labourer hath had Carnal
Knowledge of her Body and did beget her with Child of the
Bastard Child of which she was then Pregnant

The sd John Rufe< no role > hath since by Virtue of a Warrt. of the same
date under the hand & Seal of the sd. Wm Bridgen< no role > Esqr . and an
Order Indorsed thereon under the hand of James Esdaile< no role > Esqr one
of his Majestys Justices of the peace for the Co. of Middx [..] been
Apprehended and taken and did onFebry Just enter into
a Recognizance beforeGWright Esqr. one of his Majesty's Justices of the peace for this of Middx with two Sureties to Appeal at the next Sessions of the peace
for the City of London to Answer the Complaint of the
Churchwardens & Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of
St Andrew Holborn London relative to the said Bastard Child or
Children of which the sd Margt. Prosser< no role > hath so sworn herself
Pregnant & him to be the Father

17th Febry 1764


sd. Margt Prosser< no role > This name instance is in set 902. This set is in the group(s): MothersPS . was Delivered of a Female Bastard
Child in the Workhouse belonging to the sd Parish of St.
Andrew Holborn and as the saw Margt Prosser< no role > iswill not
for some time be of Sufficient Bodily Strength and Ability to
Attend the Sessions as an Evidence in Support of the Compl of the sd Ch. wardens
and Overseers

Please therefore to Move that the sd Recognizance of the sd. Jno. Rufe< no role > may
be Enlarged or Respited [..] until the next Qur. Sessions
of the peace for the sd City of London
