The Examination of Jno Denston< no role >
taken this 14th. Septr. 1730 before Me

Who upon Oath Saith that abt. a Month ago abt. 5.o, Clock
in the Morning He got in at a Window of an Empty House
One pair of Stairs in Phenix Court in Newgate Street
in the Parish of Christ Church London wch. sd. Window not
being close Shutt this Exaiant Lifted up the Sash of the
sd. Window & did enter in the sd. House & took out of
the Gutter on the top of ye sd. House abt. One Hundred
& a half Weight of Lead wch. this Exaiant brought Out
of One of the Parlour Windows wch. was bolted & fast Shutt
tile He opened it to get out at to bring away the sd. Lead
& abt. Two or Three Days after abt. Five in the Morning
did get in at ye. sd. Parlour Window & did also then take
from of Two [..] Chamber Doors Two Iron Locks & also
from of Two Cupboard Doors Two more Iron Locks &
abt. a Week after that time He this Exaiant did again
enter the Same House at the Sd. Parlour Window
between Four & Five of the Clock in the Morning & did
take away another peice of Lead from the Top of the sd.
House of abt. Ten Pound Weight & this Exaiant also
Saith One Thomas Willcocks< no role > & Elizabeth< no role > his Wife
advised & Perswaded him to comitt all the abovesd.
Facts & the sd. Thos. Willcocks< no role > told this sd. Exaiant that
He Knew the sd. House very well for that He the sd.
Thos. Willcocks< no role > attended Mr. Huggins for abt. Three
Quartrs. of a Year when He was a Prisoner in the sd.
House under the care of the late Keeper of Newgate
& this Exaiant also saith that the sd. Willcocks & his
said Wife did receive of this Exaiant the sd. Lead and
Locks so stole as a aforesd. & the sd. Elizabeth Willcocks< no role >
& this Exaiant sold part of the sd. Lead for abt. Six
Shillings & Six Pence at a Plumbers in Turn again
Lane on Snow Hill & the sd. Elizabeth Willcocks< no role > &
this Exaiant Shared the Money & this Exaiant lastly
saith that ye. sd. Thos. Willcocks< no role > cutt ye. sd. Lead in Peices
in Order for its being Disposed off
