The Order of Sr. George Thorold< no role > Knight and Barnet Lord Mayor of
the City of London & Sr. Samuel Garrard< no role > Barenet & Alderman of the said City
being Two of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the same City one Whereof is
of the Quoram & both residing next to the Limitts where the Parish Church of St.
Botolph without Aldersgate within the Liberties of the said Standeth made
at the request & Complaint of the Churchwardens & Overseers of the Poor
of the said Parish the Seventeenth Day of September in the Seventh year of
the reigne of our Sovereign Lord George by the Grate of God of Great
Britain France & Ireland King Defender of the Faith Etc. end in the year of
our Lord God One thousands Seven hundred & Twenty according to the Form
of the Statute in that Case made & provided concerning a male Bastard
Chid born in the said Parish on Wednesday the Seventh Day of this instant
September of the Body of Mary Sillitto< no role > Singlewoman which said male
Bastard Child is now Chargeable to the Said Parish and is likely so continue

Upon the Examination of the Cause & Circumstance of the Premisses taken upon the Oath of the
Said Mary Sillitto before us the said Justices & due Consideracon thereof being by us had
It appeareth to us that the said Male Bastard Child was born in the said Parish and is
become Chargeable to the same and that John Smart< no role > of Leaden hall Street London Gun Smith
did begett the said Male Bastard Child Whereupon made adjudge him the said John Smart< no role >
to be the Putative Father of the said Male Bastard Child and for the Releife of the said Parish
of St. Botolph without Aldersgate London for what they have already appended and to
indemnify them from the further Charge of the said Child We the Said Justices do hereby
Order the said John Smart< no role > forthwith upon Notice of this our Orders to pay or cause to be
paid unto the Churchwardens & Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of St. Botolph
without Aldersgate London or to some or one of them the sume of five Pounds & Ten Shillings of
Lawfull money of Great Britain which appeaeth to us to have been expended by them
in maintaining the said Male Bastard Child and other insident Charged And also that he
the said John Smart< no role > do and shall on Monday in every Week weekly from henceforth So long
as the said Male Bastard Child shall be Chargeable to the said Parish of St. Botolph without
aldersgate London pay or cause to be paid unto the Churchwardens & Overseers of the Poor
of the said Parish for the time being or to some or one of them the sume of Two Shillings
and Six Pence of like Lawfull money for and towards the maintenance of the said Male
Bastard Child In Witness whereof we the said Justices have hereunto Sett our hands the
Day and year first abovewritten
