To the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
Parish of St. Giles without Cripplegate London and also to
the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poro of the parish
of St. Leonard Shoreditch in the County of Middx

Whereas Complaint hath been made unto us whose
hands and Seals are hereunto sett two of his Majties Justices of
the peace for the City of London (Quor unus) by the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of St
Cities without Cripplegate LondonThat Matthew Langton< no role > with
Elizabeth< no role > his wife and two Children Vizt Matthew < no role > aged about three years
and John < no role > aged about fourteen Months arelately come into the
said Parish endeavouring to settle there contrary to Law and
unless timely prevented are likely to become chargeable
thereunto which We do adjudge to be true. And forasmuch
as it appeareth unto us the said Justices upon the Oath of the
said Matthew Langton< no role > That is dwelt in a Lease hold Estate of Eleven
pounds P ann rent that he had for a long term of years in right of
his wife in the Parish of St Leonard Shoreditch in the County of
Middlesex and no other legal Settlement
elsewhere appearing unto us since we do also adjudge the
said Parish of St Leonard Shoreditch to be the place of their last
legal Settlement

These are therefore in his Majesty's name to will & require
you the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the said
Parish of St Giles without Cripplegate forthwith to remove and convey
the said Matthew Langton< no role > , Elizabeth< no role > his wife & Matthew & John their Children
from out of your said parish unto the said parish of St. Leonard
Shoreditch and them deliver unto the Churchwardens and
Overseers of the poor there some or one of them who are
hereby required to receive and provide for them according to
Law Given under our hands and Seals this 15th day of
JulyAnno Dm 1720
