The Examination of Eliza. Smith< no role > , Thoms: Salter< no role >
& Eliza. Salter< no role > his wife taken upon Oath

Eliza: Smith< no role > being examd: sayeth upon her oath, that being a single woman
did about 8/mo.Since meet Thoms. Goldson< no role > dwelling in Ludgt Street , in Fleet street
which was the first of her acquaintance wth. him, and being Evening they were
to grather to the Temple Taverne ; theire in a roome on the right hand entering inn
with one window only, the roome wainscoted, having around table covered
with a carpett he the said Thoms. Goldson< no role > had the Carnall knowledge of
her body, but at noe other time since, and that She dates her pregnancy
from that time, and that he is the father of the Child She now goes with
being asked how she came to knowe his name, She reply'd he told her his
name, & that She Saw him next day at his owne dore.

She denyed that either She or any other person by her direction, or to her know-
-ledge, made any inquiring after Mr Goldson since.

That the first time She Showd Mr. Salter which was Mr Goldson was
upon Munday Last betwixt the houres of 12. & one & the the sd. Goldson
was in black Clothes in the foreshop, behind the Counter, on the right
hand as you goe in:

being examt: upon oath sayeth that Eliza. Smith< no role > abovesd. hath
Lodged about 2/mo. at his house, that above 1/mo Since Eliza. Salter< no role > his
wife told him the sd. Elza. Smith< no role > was with Child: Alsoe that on
Munday Last he Consulted Edward Fenton< no role > , & then it was agreed yt
Sd. Fenton Should goe to & acquaint Goldson herewith, which he
the sd. Fenton accordingly did: This Depont. farther sayeth that
he is Sure this person now before him is Goldson whome the above
Sd. Eliza: Smith< no role > [..] to him, Alsoe that the Sd. Eliza: Smith< no role > being
with this Depnt: on Thursday, or Fryday Last about the houre of
three afternoone, he this Depont. Saw this man called Goldson then
Standing behind his Counter in a wiggtyed & as he beleives in
black Clothes

Eliza: Salter< no role >

upon her Oath Sayeth that about 14 da after her coming
to her house: She Chargd the foresd. Eliza: Smith< no role > wth. pregnancy
and that about Thursday or fryday Last, Eliza: Smith< no role > went
with Thomas Salter< no role > to Showe him Thoms. Goldson< no role > aforesd.
