The Indictmt. setts forth a Venice dated 23 o. Janr. Act. directed to the Sherriffs of London to
inpaunell a Jury of 24 Men to serve at the next Sessions of Peace to be held at Guildhall
of the City of London on Munday the 19th. of February then next at 7 a clock in the
forenoon of the same day ad inquirand. X pr.sent and. ex. and thereupon the Sherriffe
of London comanded the Dept. being one of the Serjts. at Mace of the Poultry Compter
That he should sumon Hugh Winckworth< no role > & Phillip Woodward< no role > & divers other
good Men of the Ward of Broadsteet that they should be at the said Sessions
And that the Deft. afterwards 14 o. Febr. Anno nono et. at the Parish of Saint
Margaretts Loath bury in the ward of Broadstreet did sumon the said Hugh
Winckworth
< no role > & the sd. Phillip Woodward< no role > but intending to defraud them of sevall
sumes of money, the Deft. reced of Mr. Wine kworth 6s. under pr. tense that he
would excuse him for his not appearing at the sessions according to the sumons,
And the Deft. alsoe reced of Mr. Woodward 7 [..] :6d under ptance that he would
excuse him alsoe for not appearing according to the Sumons. In malum exemplu [..]
