The Informacon of Elizabeth Gwyn< no role >
of the parish of St. Clemts: Danes in the
Said County Widow

Who Informing upon Oath Sayth That about a Week before the
Three & Twentieth day of July last One George Powell< no role >
Came now this Informts. Lodgings in St. Clemts. and Sayd
that t'was Vacation time, & he Wanted Money, & he would
Go and Rob the Playhouse, upon which this Informt. Ask'd
him how he Could Rob Such a Place that was as Shong
as Newgate, Upon which he Answered, (Daniell Kirkum< no role >
being then in her Lodgings) One of Us must Stay in ye.
Play house During the Rehearshall , & then it is Eazy
Enough. and this Informt. further Sayth that She
Told them that there was nothing but Copper Lace
Upon which Powell & Kirkum Sayd Mr: Batterton's Shift was
all night Lace. and the Fryday after the Playhouse
was Robbed the Said Powell Came to her Lodgings
and brought a great Deal of Mony in a Hand tercher
in Silver and Sevll. Peices of Gold Goodbeing then
very Sick, & Desired to have Some Brandy and after
he had Drank it he Sayd he had Chealed Kirkum
of Tenn Pounds, but he Should never have any
of it, for he had like to be Slop'd in the receipt
of it. and if it. had not been for him he had had
Tenn Pounds more. & farther Sayth not
