The Information of Elizabeth Jackson< no role > Admitted an
Evidence on the past of the Crown against Thomas Gilroy taken on
Oath before Edward Read< no role > Esquire one of this Majesties Justices of the
Peace for the County of Middlesex who being duly Sworn saith that
Yesterdayaboutbetween three and four oclock in the Afternoon she went
to Tothillfields Bridewell and there saw the prisoner Alexander ThomasJohnGilroy< no role >
who said he had been searched [..] and they hadgotfound every thing but
the Yack (meaning the Watch) that he then pulled a Watch out of his
waistcoat pocket, and this Informant desired him to give it her to
wear. that after she had worn it some time she said she would go
for some tea and Sugar that the said Gilroy desired her to leave
the watch for that he had wroke tot he Fence who he expected
every minuet to fetch it,thatthis Inft then said Daum
your watch do you think I will be a Theif for it, and Immediatley
sent out with it, that the said Gilroy told her it would fetch [..]
fourteen Shillings and Attempted to Stopher,That she then came
home with it and went to Mr Turners in Panton Street to Pawn
it for half Guinea that Mr Turner desired her to bring the
