The Informations of William James< no role > and
Theophilus Butcher< no role > taken upon Oath this
30th. Day of May 1789

Who upon their several Oaths say and first the said
William James< no role > for himself saith that on Tuesday the
Nineteenth Day of May Instant he went to the House where
the Prisoners Catharine Miller< no role > and Mary Casey< no role > lodged in
Barnbridge Street where he was robbed of five Guineas in
Gold and five Shillings in Silver that he took the Key of the
Room Door in his Hand and after locking it went to sleep
in a Chair during which Time they took the Key from him
and when he awoke found only an old Woman in the Room
and soon after the Landlord came up and asked what
Business he had there and desired him to go down Stairs
when the said William James< no role > told him he had been robbed
of the abovementioned MoneyThe said William James< no role >
says that the Prisoner Catharine Miller< no role > took the Money
that he searched both the Prisoners but found no Money
upon them but says when he went into the Room the Money
was in his Pockett of which he was sure as he gave the
Prisoners one Shillings each and at that Time had the Gold
in his Pocket that he undressed and went to Bed and the two
Prisoners undressed and went to Bed likewise that he put
his Breeches under his Head and he soon after heard the Money
ginck that he threw his Breeches on the Bolster on which
he immediately felt in his Pockett for his Money which
was gone and the other Prisoner Mary Casey< no role > was very
fond of him at the Time kissing him that he perceived
the Window in the Room next the Yard open where he
imagined the Money had been thrown
