The Information of John Idlle< no role > and Margaret Thompson< no role >
taken on Oath before me this 4th. day of
May 1789.

Who being on Oathsaysseverally say and first the said
John Idoll for himself says That on Tuesday night last about
nine oClock as he in Company with the said Margt. Thompson< no role >
were Coming down Constitution Thill they were Stopped near the
Queens Palace by two Footpads who appeared to be Soldiers
that one of them who was in a light Coloured dress came up to this
Informant and seized him by the Collar whilst his Companion
Stood at a little distance That the man who Callared him
Demanded his Money and Watch and told him if he did not
deliver them his life [..] was gone. That said man then
Struck him on the face which made him stagger and as he
was recovering said Man attempted to Snatch his Watch
out of his fob that the String breaking he only took the Key
and with the other hand laid hold of this Informants hair
That upon this Informant and his Companion Crying out they
both jumped over the Rails into the Green Park and ran
away And this Informant further saysthathe verily beleives
that Richard Humphreys< no role > now present is the footpad who
robbed him of his Watch key as aforesaid And the
said Margaret Thompson< no role > for herself says that she was
with the said John Idler-at same time That the Man in
the Red Coat gave her a violent push which threw her
against the Rails And that she verily beleives the said
Richard Humphreys< no role > is the man who robbed the said John
Idoll
