taken before me this 2nd. day of
February 1788

Who being upon Oath severally say and first the
said Hector Essex< no role > for himself says that about
one o Clock in the Night between the thirtieth and
thirty first of January he went to bed at which
time his House was safe That about four o'Clock
he was called up by the Watchman who informed
him the door of his House was open That when
he came down he found his Shop had been
robbed and a large quantity of Watches taken
away and this Informant further says that he
verily believes the Metal Watch now produced
by said Joseph Littlor to be one of the Watches
Stolen in his Shop as aforesaid andwhitchthat the said Watch
he had from a Gentleman to clean. That the
Silver watch now produced by said John Dale< no role >
he is very sure is one of the Watches so Stolen
from him as aforesaid and that he verily believes
the Bead Buckle the inside Case of a Watch now
produced
