The Information of Abraham
Wickham
< no role > and Eleanor Holwell< no role >
taken before Us two of his Majestys
Justices of the peace for the said
County.

Who being severally upon Oath say and first
this Informant Abraham Wickham for himself
Saith that he is a Butcher and lives in Bosiers
Court Tottenham Court read that about Nine
o'Clock this Morning on his return home from
Newgate Market he saw the person now
present who calls himself John Gardner< no role > in
Company with four or five, other men standing
in the Gateway of the Hampsherd Yard Saint
Giles when this Informant on passing by looked
to see what they had Assembled together for
when he observed a Stool standing on the
Gronnst and three Cups on the Stool and
one of the Men playing with the Cups and
Some Balls when a Conversation took [..]
Place with this Informant and one of the
Men who offered to lay this Informant any
Money that a Ball was under the Cup [..]
when this Informant send he was very certain
the Ball was not under the Cup pulled three
Guineas out of his pocket for the purpose of laying a Wager
when one of the Men immediately Served
this Informant by the hand and by force
took the said three Guineas out of his
