The Information of Peter Foulger< no role >
Coachman to Phillip Mannington< no role >
Esquire taken before me this 17th. day
if February 1787 .

Who being on Oath says that his Master having
two Saddle Howes to sell, one George Newman< no role > a Dealer
in Horses and who lives in Bryanstone Street Portman
Square, about a Week or ten days since, purchased one of
said House of his said Master for night Guineas at which
time a Man when Name not Occupation this Examinant
Knows not of was in Company with said Newman That
about five o'Clock Yesterday Afternoon, this last
mentioned Man the Companion of said Newman came
to his Master's Stables in Charlotte Mens and ask'd
this Informant the Price of the other Horse to which
this Informant replied Ten Guineas That said Man
offered Nine Pounds and then Nine Pounds Fifteen
Shillings, adding that if he could get the Horse for
that, he would give this Examinant five Shillings;
and requested this Examinant to ask his Master if
he wod. take it. That he went to his Master who refused
taking less than Ten Guineas which he communicated
to said Man on his return to the Stables That said
Man sent this Examinant again to ask his Master
if he would return five Shillings out of the Ten
Guineas which his Master refused to do, and which
he likewise communicated to said Man. That on
his return, said Man agreed to give Ten Guineas for
said Horse, and desired this Examinant to bring it
to Richard's the Golder Horse in Oxford Street
That Examinant took said Horse to Richards's as
desired, where, he saw said Man, who took the
Horse
