The Informantions of Thomas
Berger
< no role > of the Strand Hosier and
Ann Campbell< no role > Wife of John
Campbell
< no role > No. 18 Howard Street
Strand taken before me this 24th.
day of July 1787 .

Who being upon Oath Severally say and first the said
Thomas Berger< no role > for himself Says that the Person now
present who calls himself Richard Johnson< no role > come to
the Shop of this Informant on the Evening of the 21st. of
June last saying at that time his Name was Jones
and desired a quantity of Stockings might he sent to his
Lodgings No. 8 Howard Street the Strand the next
Morning That in consiquence of the said Order he the
next Morning took a quantity of Silk Stockings to the
Lodging of said Johnson upon the said Johnson
chose a Dozen pair of Silk Stocking as he then said
for a Friend in the County and one pair for his
own wear That said Johnson then ask'd Informant
if he sold purson as he wicked to have one to make a
present of to a Lady That Informant replied he had
and at the request of the prisoner went back to his
Shop for the purpose of bringing some Purses to
shew him That on his return within about ten
Minutes after the said Johnson was gone away from
his said Lodgings and took away the Stocking with
him And the said Ann Campbell< no role > for herself says
that on or about the 21st. day of June last the said
Johnson took a First Floor in this Informant House
by the name of Jones for the To [..] of one Quarter
That the next day the said Thomas Borger< no role > brought
some
