to Messrs. Willan, Allen Wright, and Ruffford
Proprietors of the Stourbridge Waggon taken
before me this 3rd. day of September 1787
Who being upon Oath Saith that on Saturday the 25th.. day of
August last be set out about twelve oClock at Noon from the
Bull and Month
in Bull Months street
with the Stourbridge
Waggon. That he drove the sane to the Green Man and Still
in Oxford Street
where received two Deal Boxes and a
Crown box. That said Deal Boxes were directed to Mr. Badger
Stonbridge
Worcestershire
[..] and he put them into
his Waggon. That about a Mile on the other side Uxbridge
Bridge he perceived the Sheet at the sides of his Waggon
unskewered and the Rope cutThat he fastened the Waggon
again with other Skewers, and drove on till he came to
Red Hill Turnpiks
(it being dark) The he them lighted his Candle
at the Turnpike and got into the Waggon when he immediately
[..] missed the two Deal Boxes directed to Mrs. Badger
as aforesaid, and is very sure that the said Boxes were
Stolen out of said Waggon
