taken before me this 14th. day of August 1787
Who being upon Oath say, and first the said George Young< no role >
for himself says that this morning he was sent by his said Master
to purchase a Quantity of Coffin Nails in the Strand
which he did
and which are the Nails now producedThat as he was passing
along the Stand on his return home with them he was accosted
at the corner of a Court in the Strand
by a Man in a Crown Coat
who desired him to call him a Coach and that he would hold
his Bundle in the mean timeThat he returned immediately
with an Hackney Coach and found that said Man was gone
and his said Parcel taken awayThat he immediatly ran
in pursuit of said Man and Soon afterwards perceived Thomas

now [..] present having said Parcel of Nails on his
back and the said Isaac Simmonds< no role >
in his CustodyAnd the
said Thomas Forrest< no role >
for himself saith that this morning as he
was passing along the Strand
he perceived said Simmonds in
Company with another Man in a Crown Coat talking together
in a secret Manner-the said Simmonds having on his Shoulders
the parcel of Nails now produced-That suspecting them to
have stolen the Same, he watched them which they perceiving
attempted to ran away different waysThat said Simmonds dropped
the said Parcel of Nails and this Informant secured it and
pursued said Simmonds whom he soon afterwards apprehended
