Who saith that about two Months ago he was employed by his Fellow
Prisoner Thomas Taylor< no role >
to Assist him in making and Counterfeiting the
Current Copper Coin of this Realm called Halfpence and which this
Examinant and the said Thomas Taylor< no role >
hath at different times Since
continued to do in a Cellar in the House of the said Thomas Taylor< no role >
Situate in Peter Street
in the Parish of Saint John Clerkenwell
in the said
County and where a Stamping Press with dyes & other Impliments were
fixed for that purpose and Examinant was paid by the said Thomas
Taylor< no role >
at the Rate of Eight pence for every piece madeThis
Examinant further saith that the said Thomas Taylor< no role >
Pulled up
the Fly and this Examinant put in And that the said Thos. Taylor< no role >
and this Examinant were at work in making and Counterfeiting
the said Copper Halfpence at the time the Officers came to the
House but hearing a Noise they left off and endeavoured to
get away and Conceal themselves That the Counterfeit Copper
Halfpence found in the said Cellar [..] by the Officers were made
by this Examinant and the said Thomas Taylor< no role >
as were also the
Paper parcel of Halfpence found in the said Thomas Taylor< no role >
's Room up
one pair of Stairs And this Examinant lastly saith that Thomas
Worlings< no role >
and Mary Worlings< no role >
were not in any manner Concern'd
in making and Counterfeiting the said Current [..] Counterfeit
Copper Half pence and that he verily beleives the same was done
without the Privity or knowledge of the said Thos< no role >
