taken before me this 4th. day of April 1786

Who being on Oath says that yesterday afternoon between 3 and 4
o' Clock a person now Present who calls herself Elizabeth Anderson< no role >
came to his Masters Shop and asked for some sewing silk and twist
that whilst he was serving her with the twist he saw her put her hand
over the counter that on her going out of the shop he Missed the
Wrapper now produced containing a Quantity of sewing when Informant followed
her and on bringing her back into said Shop she let the Wrapper
of Silk fall from underneath her Cloak. And further says he is very
sure the Wrapper of Silk now produced is the property of his said Master
and was so stolen.
