the above Defendant severally
Make Oath and say and first this Deponent Robert
Jones< no role >
for himself saith that he hath caused the
Annexed Subpoena to be I Speech and hath employed the
other Deponent to Serve the Same upon Stephen Large< no role >
of No: 17
in Long Lane
West Smithfield
who is a
Material Witness for this Deponent and without
whose Testimony this Deponent cannot withany [..]
safety proceed to Tryal and this Deponent for the saith
that he hath used all true means withinhis Power
to came the said Stephen Large to be Served with the
said subpoena but without Effect he not being in
Town and is not expected within a Fortnight to
come but this Deponent believes the said Stephen
Large will be in Town and attend to give his
Evidence in this Prosecution at the next Sessions
that he was employed and did his best Endeavour to Serve
such Subpoena but could not on Account of the said
Stephen Large being out of Town to wit Northallerton
in Yorkshire as he was informed by the Wife of the said
Stephen Large and verily believes.
