For Felony

Solomon Goldsmith< no role > the Defendant of Chick Lane in
the County of Middlesex Broker Maketh Oath and Saith
that he never heard till this Morning that any Bill of
Indictment was found against him, and that being out
of Custody upon Bail he did not know he was under the
necessity of giving notice to the Prosecutor of this Deponents
intention of Surrendering himself to take his Tryal.
And this Deponent further Saith that he never intended,
to evade taking his Tryal on this Indictment but for the
reasons aforesaid And this Deponent not having before
this day been on the List for Tryal as he has been
informed and verily believes the Indictment was only.
found against this Deponent as yesterday he humbly
hope This Honorable Court will please to Respite this
Deponent and Bails Recognizance and to put the
Tryal of this Deponent off until the next Sessions
when this Deponent will be ready and Willings to take
the same.

Sworn at Justice Hall in the
Old Bailey this 15th. day of
Janry 1785 }
