Michael Johnston< no role > the Defendant maketh Oath,
and saith that James Jones< no role > and Thomas Black< no role >
are two Material Witnesses for this Deponent
to prove the Execution of the will of Alexander
Black
< no role > the Tertator deceased and that the same
was executed by him in his life time, they being
Subscribing Witnesses to such Will And this Deponent
being to be Tryed on a Charge of Forging the same
this Deponent on Tuesday last [..] one Sarah
Kirkam
< no role > to the House of Richard Ready< no role > the sign of the
Gun and Hollybush in Cable Street where the said
James Jones< no role > Dwelt or was to be found when in Town
whowhensoon after returned and informed this Deponent
that the said James Jones< no role > had a short time before
gone to Liverpool and would not return for some
little time and this Deponent further saith that he also
sent theotherlaid Sarah Kirkam< no role > to the sign of the
Globe [..] tched Fryarstowhere the said Thomas
Black
< no role > also resided or was to be formed when this said
Sarah Kirkam returned to this Deponent and informed
him that he was gone to Bristol about [..] Three
days before and would not return for near a Month
And this Deponent further saith that without
the Testimony of the said James Jones< no role > and Thomas
Black
< no role > this Deponent cannot safely Proceed to
his Defence on this Indictment.

Hall in the old Bailey , this 25th. day
of Febry 1785 }
